CRA re-report already deleted items?

I had a bunch of collections from a CA that reps a hospital on my CR.  I disputed through CRA and DV the CA.  2 days after my dispute more than half were deleted.  I just recieved bills from the hospital from the CA for all the originally reported items.  I am assuming that this mets legal verification.  Can they re-report the deleted items now?  also, I noticed that the things they did remove was all stuff that wasn't covered by my insurance (copays mostly), but the stuff that they did not delete was from prior to insurance coverage.  Can they go after you for stuff like copays, since most of the bill was already paid by insurance (1 account was for $3000, and they want the $60 copay)?  I am not sure what to do now.  Help!

Re: CRA re-report already deleted items?

Medical debt is not handled the same as other debt!!!!    All paid medical must be deleted!!!

Yes they can report co-pays if owed!!!

The HIPAA letters are all in this thread they must be followed in the correct order!

If you owe anything.....pay the OC not the CA!!!  you will find the restricted endorsement in this thread. And yes it is important to use hand write the envelope and use the correct colored paper.

Re: CRA re-report already deleted items?

What law specifically states that all paid medical debt has to be deleted?

I've looked online, spoke with representitives from both that NYS Attorney General Office and the Health and Human Services Civil Law department (feds that oversee hipaa) and they both had no idea were I would get the idea that those items would have to be deleted once paid, in fact the rep for HHC stated that they would be on my credit report for 7 years "just like if I didn't pay my Macy's bill".  Also, neither was aware of the NYS law that paid items are deleted after 5 years.

I am afraid to have any further contact because I don't want to restart the clock.

Also regarding the HIPAA steps in the thread:

Why should I opt out?  If I opt out doesn't that prevent my creditors from reporting the good stuff, like on time payments.  THat's going to increase my score more then getting rid of collections from 3-6 years ago.

Re: CRA re-report already deleted items?

HIPAA and PMI  demands it. A CA has a business purpose to report unpaid medical. Ones paid there remains NO BP.

Re: CRA re-report already deleted items?

So I keep hearing on the board, but where can I find the documentation that supports that?

If the feds that regulate hipaa have no idea, how am I ever going to prove this to the CA/OC/CRA?

Re: CRA re-report already deleted items?

If you do a web search for "HIPAA letter", you'll find the documentation that you seek.
