As per credit reporting, looking towards its future possible statutory exclusion from your credit report, a date of first delinquency of Nov 2008 would, in my opinion, support its CR exclusion after May, 2016. A bit to go, but it may be ealier than 7 years from the repo action.
FCRA 605(c), which applies to the exclusion of collections and charge-offs based on DOFD, is not limited to only collections and charge-offs.
It expressly applies to "any delinquent account that is....charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action."
In the act of accounting on a repo, similar action is taken, thus establishing the DOFD as the relevant basis for determiing the CR exclusion date.
