I am happy to report that Capital One is deleting a negative tradeline. I am really happy about this bc the card was charged off and I am now rebuilding my credit. I just didn't want that ugly mark. 

I sent about 6 letters off two weeks ago and this is the first tradeline deletion. 

I know there's a chance my score may go down but I don't want that nasty charge-off on there. 

Cap One has been working with me and they are treating me great!

Congrats!  I too have one really negative Cap One from 2008 that is TOTALLY draggin down my score.  If I could get that TL deleted I would be thrilled, a copy of the letter you sent and the contact information of who you sent it to would be FANTASTIC...Have a great day

I have sent 3 GW letters to Cap one and got the same answer. We report true information and we have to by law bla bla. Seriously are there any proficient people that work in those credit departments of any of these companies???

They know it all, hate to be corrected and don't learn. Still they are wrong.

The best one I have been hearing a lot of is 'We have to by law report every month to the CB's and we cannot removve any lates.'

Although you can turn blue telling them, they are not forced by any law to report anything and yes they can do a GW adjustment.

Sorry my frustration is high this week.

I didn't send the letter because I tailored it to my situation, which is what I recommend for you guys.

I have also re-established myself with 2 cards and an auto loan.

If you have any of these I would recommend stating that in your letter.
