Well, I am in shock and awe!!! Could someone PLEASEEEEEEE pm me the number. I have a hunch that my battle with Capital One may not be over...
Guys seriously just try the chat first. They deleted! All I did was ask for assistance in removing 2 lates. The chat rep verified my info, asked for the month/yr of the lates, and (their words) initated the dispute to remove the negative reporting. They will send me a letter to confirm within 10 days, and said to please allow 60-90 days for the bureaus to update! AMAZING!!!

Modernsurrender (hope I spelled it right) Have you tried just doing a chat? If not give a whirl! Be sweet as pie. When I first started, I said Hi and included the chat reps name. They asked how I was, I said well, and I hope the same for you. Then I asked for assistance in removing 2 lates as a goodwill adjustment. Rep said understands good credit reporting and the rest is history. No phone call, no questions.
I will add, this is still an open, active account, if that may make a difference.
Well, I just got off the phone with them. It was a no-go. They informed me that they could not remove it, and yes, my account is closed. Oh well, the late are 4 years old, might as well let them die off in 3 years.

He just did try chat, those were quotes from the most recent chat lol. He's in CS so he's always personable and good about using names... His account is also 10 years old, open and in good standing with them (although his util is high lol). It's the ONLY baddie on his CR, period, which is why he'd like to get rid of it. He just doesn't seem to be getting lucky online or on the phone with anyone he speaks with.
Birjest, I'm thinking they are more forgiving on open accts.
Modernsurrender - My acct is about 10yrs old to. I just recently got the util down to 0, I use it, but pay it off monthly before due date. I say, keep chatting it up! Good luck! I'm still shocked myself. If only HSBC saw things may way....
