I was with Geico and decided to change to another company that was cheaper. I called and cancelled with Geico and they are saying because I requested a 2 weeks extension on my payment and other billing issues that I owe them over $400 to be paid by the 27th (even though I supplied them with a date that the new policy went into effect). I do not think this is correct and want to find out more about it but I only have 15 days to pay and I am not sure this is enough time to find out if this is what I truly owe. Does anyone know at what point Geico sends to collections and if they do before I have this resolved how bad it will effect my credit? Thank you!
