Charge off Falloff question

Hi,

I have 3 Chase Charge-offs with the last activity in 2014 for each one. How can I get these removed early based on the 7 year rule?

Last Activity for each account

9/2014

12/2014

11/2014

I also recentaly paid a US bank charge off and it was removed from every report, except for EX.  How can I nudge EX and have them remove this CO as well?

Any help is plus because I am in the process of purchasing a house and can't dispute right now.

Thanks

Re: Charge off Falloff question

It's not based on date of last activity, it's based on Date of First Delinquency, or when the account first went delinquent and never became current again. Do you know when that was?

As far as the US Bank account, was that also from the same time as the 3 Chase accounts? Again, you'd need to know the DOFD to figure out if it maybe qualifies for early exclusion.

Thank you for that update regarding JPMCB.

In regards to US Bank, I just figured if EQ and TU deleted it after I paid it off last month, EX would follow the same process.

Nope. All 3 bureaus are independent from each other. Just because EQ and TU deleted the US Bank TL (early?), doesn't mean EX has to or will.

Re: Charge off Falloff question

It was likely deleted from one or more CRAs but not all three due to a reporting decision made by the creditor, and NOT based on a decision by the CRAs.

It is common for a furnisher (creditor or debt collector) to choose to delete their reporting to all but one CRA for internal business reasons, such as to simplify future update requirements or to avoid possibility of having to deal with any disputes than might later be filed by the consumer.  CRAs normally do not delete independently, but only on direction of the furnisher.

In fact, it is clear and published internal policy of all of the big-3 CRAs not to delete based on payment of a delinquent debt, and they also advise furnishers not to make such deletions.

It is thus highly unlikely that the lack of deletion with EX was due to a determination by that CRA.

If you seek deletion with EX, the course is to send the creditor a request that they report deletion of the CO with that additional CRA.
