Chase GW Success!!!!??

Okay I really hope I did not just make things worse for my credit score!!!

I emailed Chase Executive office yesterday for a GW removal of  the entire year of 2007 being reported late every month 30,60 and all the way up to 3, 180 days late (Was a very rough year)!!! So Ifigured this was really holding my score back. I caught back up on payments and paid on time for another 3 years and closed the account!

So he just called me back and said he no longer has any records of the account so he can not request the late payments to be removed but he will contact the CRA and have the The whole TL removed if that is what I wanted to do!! I hesitated because the card was open in 2002!! Although it is not my oldest TL I was afraid it might still have the opposite effect of what I was trying to accomplish!!!!

In the end I just agreed to have it removed!!! I am really hoping I did not make a HUGE mistake!!!!

Any thoughts on this???

It all depends on how many lines you have open and how old they are. Honestly, IMO, your score will go up. But if it doesn't, you will have peace of mind knowing that those lates are removed from your reports. That to me is well worth any potential drop. Also can you forward me the contact info you used to GW?

So good news is they did delete the tradeline! I checked my CK today (I know it's a FAKO) but it dropped 5 points!! I don't want to pay for a new myFico report so I guess I will just wait and see if I get a SW alert! sigh...
