Closed Account

Citibank closed my credit card account and then after closing my account they decided to report it 90 days late. Can they still report late payments even though they closed the account?

Yes.  Even if the account is closed to new activity it doesn't mean the balance and minimum payments are no longer due.  If you paid less than the minimum due or not at all they can report it even if the account is closed.  A creditor typically stops updating a trade line when the account is closed AND there is a zero balance.

Re: Closed Account

or was the 90 day late the reason they closed it?
