Collection Agencies in GA

How do you find out if a Collection Agency is licensed in your state?

Re: Collection Agencies in GA

Check your state AG's website, consumer protection division normally.

Or you can google.

As far as I know, Georgia does not require either a license or a bond.

Ditto to Sidewinder. I had checked in the past and their statutes refer back to the FDCPA and everything mirrors Fed law. If they are located in GA, they may have to be licensed as a corp., rather than a CA, but I didn't check that. But that wouldn't pertain to collection laws and the state would just ask them to register/file.
