Hi
I've been attempting PFD letters for the following 7 seven collection accounts:
AFNI, INC ($108 Bellsouth/AT&T phone bill) Collection Opened 03/2008, last bill payment 10/2006
Credit Protection Association 1($125 Charter Communications cable bill, apparently for equipment) Collection Opened 08/2008, last bill payment 10/2006
Credit Protection Association 2($293 Charter Communications cable bill, apparently for bill) Collection Opened 03/2008, last bill payment 10/2006
Credit Management LP ($307 Different Charter Communications cable bill) Collection Opened 10/2010, last payment 07/2009
Northeast Legal Group($279 collection from returned check) Collection Opened 07/2008
Holloway Credit Solutions ($75 medical bill, this is the only account that calls me regularly, also the oldest) Collection Opened 07/2006
Trident Assest Management ($44 Columbia House DVD account, This collection apparently disappeared two weeks after first letter was sent 6 weeks ago)
After two letters to each, six weeks later no responses, just the one that was oddly removed. I want to know if anyone has email info regarding the above CAs, and if it would be best to start emailing them at all? Or just continue to send letters? Thanks

The ones from 2006 I would check the SOL of your state. They are approaching their end of life of reporting and will fall off next year. If they are outside the SOL of your state, I would offer a PFD for them at a reduced rate.
I want them off ASAP so waiting on the SOL is not preferred. I want to know and explore any other options besides waiting. Do I heckle them with letters or emails?
I was refering to the SOL of your state, not the CR reporting times. If the SOL of your state is 3 years, then they can report but have no legal bite to get you to pay. Use that to your advantage for a PFD.

This is not widely approved by myfico members; however, I had success on 3 collection and 2 charge off accounts. After several unanswered, emails, mail, and fax attemtps I simply called them and they verbally agreed to the PFD (especially on the ones outside of SOL)...if they agreed I paid if they did not I said oh well it is out side of the SOL so I will never pay unless deleted...typically they placed me on hold, spoke with their supervisor, and came back and said OK we can accept it. Based on my experience I recommend this approach...all deleted as they stated and provided me a letter after payment that it would be deleted. Hope this helps.
Thanks, Thanks!
