I've had a collection appear on my Equifax report yesterday. I'm thinking my anesthesiologist sent my account to collections right before I paid it off. I haven't called yet to make sure I have no balance but I haven't received any new bills. If that's the case, what's my best course of action. Can I ask their office to retract the collection? Dispute with the collection agency?
Just really frustrating as I've been very diligent in cleaning my credit up that last few years and I was trying to let all the bills from a surgery settle out with my insurance and I guess I waited just a bit too late. Anyway, thanks for any advice.
