Collections Question

Long story short, I have a collection from an old apartment I had with an ex girlfriend. We owe $2,688.78 and the debt collection agency says if we pay $2100.00 today, it will be taken off my credit history (takes up to 90 days to show).

Is this legit? The guy on the phone says it would be paid over phone and have email confirmation during the call and what not. First and last time I’m dealing with this and obviously not trying to send $2,100 to scammers.

The collector that has the debt is Brett M. Borland PC if that helps at all.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Collections Question

Quick Google search. He is legit and his office is in GA. If he is going to PFD. Grab it. If it isn't deleted as promised. Least it's paid and not owed.

Re: Collections Question

Is the deletion promise in writing or is their policy of partial payments in writing on their website?
