Credit Scores

Are people paying the $40 here to get their credit scores monthly?  Or is there a better place. Credit Karma is free but doesn't show Experian.

Re: Credit Scores

Credit Karma doesn't provide FICO scores, it gives Vantage 3 scores which are basically useless as lenders do not use them to make credit decisions (that's why it's free). Credit Karma is only good for monitoring TU & EQ report changes - scores could be ignored.

myFICO is a good service as it provides a total of 28 FICO score versions and that's why it's a bit costly.

If you are only interested in the FICO 8 version, there are cheaper monthly services avail such as Experian.com (Experian CreditWorks) or CreditCheckTotal.com.

You can also get monthly FICO scores from some card issuers - like Amex, Disco, or Citi - if you have accounts with them. If that is not an option, Discover offers your free EX FICO 8 monthly at https://www.discover.com/free-credit-score/ . You do not have to be a cardholder to use that service.

I would say most do not have their scores from here but that is just a guess though.  Credit Karma is free but it is providing Vantage scores, not your FICO scores.  They can be off as much as 100 points from your real FICO scores.
