I have 8 CC's. $20,600 worth of credit total across the 8. I only use one card though. Everything else stays at a zero balance. I pay the one card off in full after the statement is issued. I don't carry a balance on it.
It's the Bilt WF card. It's the only travel reward card I could get after my BK 4 years ago. So I put everything on it. My CL on it is $2,500 so at the end of the month the credit utiliation for just that card is usually 50 or 60 percent or something.
Does the credit utilization matter on a single card or is it really about the total credit used acrossed all the cards? Which means in my case I'm using about 8 or so percent of my total credit.

Both. But I'd pay down your Bilt card down to way below 50/60% BEFORE the statement cuts. Like, I'd say pay it down to <8.9%. Then pay in full right after it cuts like you have been. The reason for this is cause individual utilization of 50-60% hurts your scores.
