DOFD Unclear, CA reporting very recent Date Opened

Hi,

I have a CO account that happened in 2016.  The CA is reporting the Date Opened as Dec 2019, which is wrong.  I'm a MyFICO subscriber but I can't see the DOFD on the report.  

• Is the Date Opened the same as DOFD for CO accounts?
• What's the best approach to get this deleted from my CR for incorrect reporting?

The "date opened" does not refer to the date you opened the account with the original creditor.  It is the date the collection account was opened in the collection agency's files.

"Date opened" is seperate from DoFD, as the current date they "opened" the CA with them is in fact accurate and there is not likely any innacurate reporting there. "Date opened" does not change DoFD.

To access your DOFD pull an ACR report and look at the OC tradeline.
