Hello all
Back in June, I paid off a $900 collection on my credit report from a personal loan.
I just now realize that their reported dofd (March 2019) is wrong. I defaulted back in December 2019. I have documents to support this: statements from the OC, plus an email from the OC (January 2019) notifying me that account was sent to collections.
1. Should I dispute this with the credit bureaus?
2. If I do, are my documents enough to prove my case?
Thanks everyone for your input.
Go to your free real credit report and check the actual fall off date first before disputing anything.

Even if you win the dispute, all that will happen is the date gets updated and the collection stays on your credit report until 2026.
Frankly I would not even worry about it at this point, just retain your paperwork proving it and any other paperwork on it you may obtain going forward. As it nears its exclusion date that would be the time to challenge the DoFD
