DV after 30 days

Through this site and others I have learned that a CA does not have to respond to your DV request/s after 30 days. I always thought they had to.

I am a bit confused because I have sent DV letters and never received a response. So I mailed out a letter to the CRAs where the TL is reporting. However, if the CA doesn't have to respond then won't the CRA ignore my letter and this TL will continue to report?

If all this is true what is the point of sending a letter to the CRAs.

What happens if you never received a dunning letter or notice and found a CA on your CRs. Would you be able to send a DV then?

Re: DV after 30 days

If you are in TX, they must respond, or any other state that requires.

They are not required to respond, but if they don't, then they must stop collection activities.

FTC has ruled that reporting on one's CR is a collection activity.

You can still DV if you never received a dunning letter.
