DV'd a letter I received, but another company responded

For the first time, I was prompt in my response, and I DV'd a letter I received from Focus Receivables. Problem is, Asset Acceptance responded saying what I *think* means they validated the data.

1. Shouldn't I have received something from Focus, NOT Asset?

2. Shouldn't they have provided details? All it said was yup, it's ours and "if you have any specific questions, contact us."

3. The info I have for the amount for Asset Acceptance is higher than what my credit report for Best Buy say I last owed (I don't have my own records) before they sold it. What do I do?

Focus should have responded.  But, now I would DV Asset Acceptance.  They are required to tell you who is collecting and how much is owed.  If you ask for the name of the OC and their address and an itemization of the debt they must include those.
