So, I had ADT after me through NCO Financial. I sent them a DV letter and Friday, then sent me a postcard-sized letter that said that they were closing the account and would not be reporting to the credit bureaus. I take this as great news, but I'm asuming I'm not out of the woods yet. I'm assuming that ADT can keep sending my account to diferent collection agencies and keep trying this stuff. I guess I just don't know what to expect now.
Likely NCO was assigned vs. owning the debt. IME, they are push overs if they don't own the debt. The next step is that ADT will re-assign the debt to a new CA or sell the debt to a CA. If ADT is not reporting, if I had that, I'd PIF to ADT and avoid a future CA. If ADT is reporting, then I'd send a PFD.
