yes account was used and payments were made but according to a credit repair channel on YT, some creditors will still remove the account even if payments were made. And in my situation it may be possible since the account was not technically opened by me but a significant other. Payments were also made from his checking account and not mine. I actually have a identity theft report and police report that was made prior to me ever even sending in the validation letter. I'm not sure yet what I'll do about First Premier, I've read other posts on here that say they don't usually ever sell their debts so it will just remain charged off and update monthly late payments I guess. I just wasn't honestly sure about the response to the DV letter. So basically I should only send debt validation letters to a collection agency and not the original creditor?
I'll let @dragontears answer you. Dont want to step on him. Could you not pay so a CO wouldnt have happened? Just the minimun at least? Now were talking fraud. More has been introducd to this situation. No OC will remove CO's. FP wont even remove lates 99.9% of the time. Forget whats on YT. I wouldnt have a BK on my reports if it all was true. Snake oil stuff.
I have a bankruptcy as well and I own up to that. I wouldn't try to dispute that even though there are videos claiming how to. No wayI'm treading down that path.
But I'm definitely going to try and clean up this charge off mess before I throw my hands in the air and give up. I was almost to 700 6 months ago and then it all fell apart. I'm still not sure what will happen with the other creditors, some of them might remove and some probably won't. It's worth a shot. That's kind of why I was inquiring about First Premier because I know they are a more difficult creditor.
To answer your question though, I could have worked out an arrangement but I feel like calling them to work something out would of been me owning up to the debt and then I wouldn't be able to dispute it. But that was before I knew what was said here. I think I'm just gonna have to settle it and let it age off if all else fails.
You had the right intentions. But it applied to collection agencies not the OC. You'll gain some points once the account is settled or PIF. No longer will it be considered maxed out. Time flies and it wil be gone before you know it. This section wouldnt be here if we didnt mess up or life threw us hard balls.

FP will not remove baddies ,give a break .. but making payments on that account unless you disputed fraud charges within 60 days.. means it's yours...sounds like a relative may have opened an account in your name .. should have closed account right away ..happened to me
That's what I'm hearing. I wonder if they will end up transferring the debt to a collection agency or if that is something First Premier is even known to do. I'll have to pay it in full because I don't want the charge off and the collection on there.
