Difference between collection and account?

I have 2 medical bills from 2008, but with same collection agency. On my TU and EQ report they are listed as collections and specified as medical. On Ex they are listed as an installment loan that is due monthy and past due. I am curious as to why this is and is it ok for EX to list it as such. Because it was not a loan, it apparently was a medical bill from a doctor that went unpaid.

A CA cannot list as an installment.  They can list monthly because that is the way they are to be paid.  In one months time.
