Divorce Issues and Credit Cards

OK - I know that I am responsible for anything that is joint credit.....but I did not watch it very carefully due to a brutal divorce combined with some health issues at the time.

My now ex-wife screwed up several accounts by paying them 120 days late - all were accounts I was a joint signer to and they all have been closed - 2 by her  -one by the company.

What is the best way to explain this in a goodwill letter asking to have it removed?

Any advice or sample letters?

Thanks

Re: Divorce Issues and Credit Cards

Be honest about the situation you were in, show extenuating circumstances and that you have learned to better manage things. Basically tell a good story...
