Early exclusion worked!

Oooooh my this morning After 4 years I tried to do the early exclusion request and to my surprise it worked! Got an email back almost instant with the results... TU removed everything negative!!! I just sent the same request to Equifax to see if I could leverage that, so they could remove the items on their report.

One item was a BK7. So this is huge!!! Feels like I'm back to where I was at the beginning.

I would have never of know how to do that if it wasn't for y'all.

picked up a new amex green card too! (Amex was one of the cards I burned) they even back dated my account to the date before I burned them!  "Member since 03"

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Discharge was Jan 2019 and I just used the Transunion website and it's free to dispute. Select "no judgement" then in the notes put "Kindly requesting Early Exclusion from Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Grateful for your consideration."

im still in shocked that this worked. I thought I was going to have to wait until 2029.

not sure if it's my solid credit history after the discharge but right after my discharge I opened a few secured cards right away. Here's my timeline (estimate)

After discharge I got the following

US bank secured card -300.00

Fingerhut - 1000.00

overstock 1100.00

credit one 500.00

car loan at 14% 23,000.00

after 8 months I got a capital one card and another credit one card and some random credit card called "ollo" which was later bought out by Ally.

exactly one year after my discharge I refinanced my car through capital one at 4.4%

2 years after, another capital one card came through and a card called "upgrade" and a personal loan of 12,000.

3 years in all was paid off no debt.

year 4 multiple hard inquires dropped -  I got the credit one amex, business card "spark" through capital one and another stupid card called "BrightWay" from OneMain

4.5 years in I filed for the exclusion and it worked and was approved for an Amex... had the option for the Green, Delta or platinum - I chose the green as its best for me. I also got a NCFU secured card (I got this before the exclusion) - looking back now I wish I would have waited lol.

good luck! may vary for different people. BK was the best option for me... although it sucked and felt embarrassing. I'm glad I did it or I would still be drowning in debt (my business failed)

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Oh wow, so they took that off your report pretty much 5 years early.  Good for you man, thanks for sharing that all of those data points too.  Im in the middle of a rebuild right now and have a couple things im waiting to fall off because they are keeping me in the 660 range so I may have to try that and see what happens.

Is it only off on TransUnion or does it still show on experian and equifax?

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Right now it's only showing TU. I haven't heard back from Experian but from what I read Experian may give me issues. I sent this to Experian "Gratefully seeking Early Exclusion from Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Your kind consideration means the world to me. Transunion has already removed it. Thank you sincerely for your help."

If I can get it removed then I'll try with equifax

let's see if that works.

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Congratulations on your EE from TU !  Its a great feeling. You just might be the earliest EE I'm aware of.  Don't expect the same from EX.

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Yeah, I figure EX is going to say no but hey! I'm still over the moon about TU and going to try to use that as leverage. If they say no I'm going to retry every 60 days lol.

I think wording the dispute notes is key. Years ago I tried other disputes and basically begged and was always denied. I kept this one short and sweet and for how fast it was removed made it seem like it was automated.

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Just saw this bottom comment - "There's a thread on here that can guide you thru TU only Pulls for near future cards if you like." Appreciate that, I figured that's what I'll be doing if EQ doesn't want to remove it. I noticed most lenders seem to pull TU so I think I'll be in good shape.

Re: Early exclusion worked!

Was the dispute resolved or still under dispute? Curious because years ago I did a dispute and they removed the item in question only during the dispute period. When the investigation was over, they put it right back on my report as verified.
