Equifax refusing to correct

Hello fico guru's,

Another prob with Equifax.

Had Barkley's 2014. Last payment 3/2015.

Everybody has 3/2015.

Sold to Midland,they have 2015. They have removed. Exp. Removed. Trans removed.

Equifax has 5/2015 claiming they got it from Midland I explained that even tho they bought the debt, only OC reports DOFD.

EQUI. Tells me to call Barkley, but Barkley said they can't tell me anything because they sold the debt to Midland. Even Midland removed it.

Equifax is the worst.

Barkley is also updating every month. Once they sell, aren't they supposed to stop updating.

Is Barclays still showing a balance owed?

No. But even tho no balance, they update CO status.

When you apply for credit, the computer does not care that it says o balance only effects your DTI. the computer sees an active CO.

The account can certainly remain, but updating anything will trigger score dump.

The updating should stop.

Yes the CRAs per their own rules say once an account reaches a 0 balance and its closed they are to stop updating it. This one sounds like it is going to go this year so just ask for the early exclusion 1 mo in advance with equifax,

Equifax is the absolute worst EVER . . . they wouldn't budge on one CO reporting so I just stopped contacting them and the only negative item on Equifax will purge in December 2022. Experian and Transunion deleted the item (as a courtesy) when I paid it off and I was so happy when both agencies deleted it. Best wishes in resolving.
