FINGERHUT charge off

I have a 77$ from years ago as a charge off
If call them and pay it will they remove it ?
Or if it’s payed will this change my score ?

Re: FINGERHUT charge off

If I'm not mistaken, balances under $100 are ignored for FICO scoring purposes.

Re: FINGERHUT charge off

The CRA reporting manual and their credit reporting agreements instruct creditors not to delete a reported derog based on payment of the debt.  That is a policy of the CRAs, who are in business to provide complete credit histories, and view deletion of accuracy information as not being in the interest of that goal.  However, there is no prohibition under the FCRA of such deletion. It is up to the creditor.

Simply paying will not assure deletion.

However, if you secure a specific agreement from them prior to paying that they will delete upon receiving payment, that becomes a separate and express contract term that is legally enforceable, and will thus provide basis for requried removal.

FINGERHUT charge off
I have a 77$ from 2014 as a closed charge off

Can anyone confirm if a charge off Under 100$ does not effect a score or it does ?
Just to make it clear it’s a charge off and not a collection
If it does effect my score If I pay it and it will say payed will it change my score ?
