First Premier Charge off

Good morning all -

I've seen some of you folks have success in removing a First Premier Charge off.  I'm hoping to have the same luck.  The one thing I've seen an inconsistency of is should I send a PFD letter, or should I pay the balance first then request the deletion?

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks to this forum I've received a bunch of help so far.  I'm hopingng in short time I'll be the one on the other on of these posts..

Re: First Premier Charge off

I'm curious about this as well. I have a $400 charge off from 2012 and I can't even remember ever owning this card or using it. According to the report it was opened and never even payed. I've tried contacting First Premier bank and they gave me the number to Jefferson capital. However on my report it shows first premier as the reporting agency. Who should I be contacting?

Re: First Premier Charge off

You always try the PFD first. The older the CO is the better chance of a PFD. If its updating monthly and they wont do the PFD settle it anyway then switch to a GW letter campaign asking for removal of the TL. Good luck Smiley Happy

Re: First Premier Charge off

The first issue is whether or not the creditor sill owns the debt, or whether they have sold it.

It is common for a creditor to sell a debt after takng a CO in order to recoup a bit more of their expected total loss.

If they no longer own the debt, then no offer to pay can be accepted by the creditor, and thus only a GW request for deletion would be appropriate.

PFD would then apply only if the new owner has already reported their collection to the CRA.
