Bump
Hi all. Is this topic still alive and kicking?
If so, what is the best place to get your 3 scores as a monthly subscription?
I've just started the GW process but want to keep track of the results.
Thanks
Never mind the last post. Went with Experian through USAA.
I'm brand new to the group and read every post today. Sending 1st GW to Chase on behalf of my wife today to remove one 30 day late on an auto loan.
Wish me luck
Good luck with your Chase GW letter
Again, 30 day lates will not be factor after 2 years, the 90+ days lates are the killer, will stay for 7 years. Then again, a Clean Report is always better.
2013 Feb EQ: 550 | 2017 Feb EQ: 722
Well the results are in from my first batch of GW letters:
Cap1/Best Buy - 1x 30 day late removed.
DSNB/Macy's - 1x 30 day late, they told me to pound salt.
Dept. of Veterans Affairs - 2 "accounts" resulting from overpayments on the GI Bill, sent to collections then paid off. Predictably, they were confused and sent me a letter about disputing an inaccurate reporting. I'm going to try again with Macy's and go straight to the collections agency regarding the VA stuff. I didn't pay it at the time because after 50 attempts to call and get the overpayment explained to me, I gave up. It was stupid, I know. Eventually i got a collections call and paid in full, on the spot when they explained what the overpayment was for.
I will try again with Macy's, I heard they are tough.
this is a great group. My wife and I are on a journey to clean up credit. My credit is better than hers. I will definitely be sending GW letters out as well as one asking them remove if we pay in full
Our collections are all medical...ugh
wish us luck!
Can anyone help me out?
Have a 30 and 60 day late, one right behind the other from December of 2012 and January of 2013.
I've GW'd them once in November, sent back a letter saying they have to report it correctly, yada yada yada.
I've got another one typed up, just slightly edited from the first one and ready to go. I'm using the address listed on the credit report.
But does anyone have a good fax number to the CEO's office? Email, another address? Should I address it to ATTN: EA (Executive Assistant)? Or address it to some other specific department?
Thanks for any and all help guys! Also... If someone with more knowledge feels like I should leave it alone, let me know. I've read that 30 day lates normally fall off in 2 years, but how long do 60 day lates? I've read that 90's stay for 7 years? Thanks again guys! (:
Can anyone with cap one successes please PM a contact info?
Thanks to this awesome place I am on the road to rebuild.
