Re: Getting OC to recall a collection

That's if you pay the collection agency, if you call the OC(the person you orginally owed the money to) and make an agreement to pay for them to recall the collection. That means they call back the item completely from collections and it will no longer be on your report.

Makes sense! I'll try this tomorrow.

I have 4 medical collections that I would like off my reports.

What steps should I take to try and get the OC to recall the debt? One of them is close to $700. Would they be willing to recall it for a payment plan possibly?

Do I just call and ask them to recall it, if insurance can't be billed? The $700 collection is for an ER visit. The others are just doctor bills.

Did you have insurance?

Was any part of the 700 covered by the insurance company?

American Express: Platinum Charge, Optima, Business Gold, Delta Business Reserve, Business Cash, Business Plus
Barclays: Arrival+ WEMC
Capital One: Savor WEMC, Venture X Visa Infinite
Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite
Citibank: AAdvantage Platinum WEMC
Elan/US Bank: Fidelity Visa Signature
Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature
FICO 08: Score decrease between 26-41 points after auto payoff (11.01.21) FICO as of 5.23, EX: 812 / EQ: 825 / TU: 815

No, it wasn’t on file there. So, never charged.

Re: Getting OC to recall a collection

Should i try a PFD first with the collection agency before trying anything with the OC?

They can still file a claim with the insurance company you were with at that time.

Re: Getting OC to recall a collection

Awesome!!! Do I just call and ask them to, or should I ask for a bill and file it myself?

Also, the only one that was is the $698 collection.
Still don’t know what to about the smaller medical collections. PFD or go through the OC?
