I'm curious about sending some goodwill requests to have some late payments removed. The problem is that some of these accounts are both closed, and few years old and I no longer have the orignal account numbers. In cases like this, what is the best way for one to reference these accounts? I've got account open/closure dates, and the dates of the deliquencies from my credit report, but not much else. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks!

In regard to referencing, you can use the account numbers listed on your credit report (or if all but the last 4 is masked then you can use the last 4 of the account number as a reference). You could add your name, address, and/or birthday, which would give them more information to go by while pulling up an account and any dates (which most you can obtain from your credit report) could also help as well. Optional, but you could use the last 4 of your social but i wouldnt really suggest it if youre sending a gw via mail, but that is up to you, just want to limit pii that gets out there.
