HELP, Medical collection account question?

I received a letter from a collection agency asking for payment so I sent validation letter I received a printout so I wrote another letter stating that was not proof enough. On Friday I received a call from them at my job asking exactly what kind of validation I was looking for. Now my question is, this account is in collections but not on my credit report yet. Should I pay the doctor's office and not the collection agency and hope they don't have it put on my credit report or pay the collection agency? Now I have tried in the past asking to pay for deletion on another medical account at the same doctor's office and she just flat out said NO they can't do that. The person checking my record has a right to know that I've been late with payments, so they won't delete it. I don't know what to do. Anyone? suggestions?

I am in the same boat...
I have a collection letter for doctor not on my report yet asking me to pay the doctor directly...I guess I will call them both up, send both letters in the realm of PFD?

Worried that the collection agency will report it once I paid doctor, but want to beat them to the chase so it does NOT get reported at all...

You can't PFD something...that IS NOT on your reports...if you know....it is your account...PAY IT...BEFORE they report...

Okay, I do understand the PFD, but was just worried that the ca will report it paid like some sort of feather in their cap...

A letter from the CA...saying they won't report...in exchange for payment...

so pay the collection agency and get something in writing first stating this won't go on my credit? What if they say they can't do that?

The same thing happened to me. I paid the CA, but they reported anyway. Is there anything I can do to get that taken off my credit report? The account is paid in full, but I still want to get that off of there.

It your account...still in that 30 day frame...if you settle with that 30 days period...they should not report...but get something in writing....
