I had a judgment that was very shady from the beginning. I was taken to court by Elite Recovery Services back in 2006, I didn't even know because I lived in Texas and they filed in Oklahoma. They even stated they served me when they didn't. Anyway, my wages were garnished and the judgment was satisfied. Well I have been trying to get the judgment removed for a long time and it always comes back verified even though the CRA's have the incorrect filing date and account number. Although it was scheduled to drop off in 2014 and probably didn't effect my score as much I still wanted to get it removed. I went to the Consumer Finance government site and submitted a complaint with proof the filing date was inverted on all CRA's. Less than two weeks later viola!! REMOVED... I probably wont get any kinda score jump from this but I am happy that its deleted.. I love that website..
I am on track to get my new car in July..
Congrats!!!!!
Congratulations! You inspired me to continue to fight to remove my public record.
Total congrats on not giving up and getting this thing off!!!! Like you said, it might not make much of a score difference at this point, but it's satisying knowing that it's off for sure!
You mentioned this: "the Consumer Finance government site"
Think you could drop the link of that site or write out the exact, proper name of the place so I can find it? I don't need it, but I'd like to have that information in my records JUST IN CASE. Plus it might make it easier for a few others to find it should they need it now.
thanks!
Congrats

Oops sorry.. I am not sure if we can post links but I am sure the MOD will remove if we cant, but the site is http://www.consumerfinance.gov. If this gets removed Google Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. When you get to the site on the top right of the screen select submit a complain. You can can select credit reporting and you fill out the form and upload any documents you have proving your claim. State what you want, I stated DELETE INCORRECT INFORMATION. They will e-mail you when they get a response from the CRA which took 10 days in my case.
Goodluck
Hey thanks! That's a site I never heard of before so I'm happy to have the information thanks!
I THINK links are okay to post - for sure for stuff like this.
Thank you so much for this post! I just submitted 2 complaints about how my method-of-verification letters were handled by EX and TU. Here's hoping that the result is no more public records on my files. Then my only negatives will be my ~20% utilization and my 30 day late from May/June 2008 that won't budge.
