He has a question and doesn't have Internet access at the moment.
His identity was stolen around 2007-2009. He has been working very hard (with my help) to get rid of collections. He is down to 3.
This one will go off in Jan 2015, but he doens't want to "stir the pot".
The original creditor is "Target National Bank" for around $1,100.
According to the FDIC, this bank went under in 2013.

It looks like Target now uses "Target Card Services", and a seperate bank for their debit cards.
With that being said, it looks like the company this debt is owed to has gone under (although the parent company has not).
Would he need to either:
A. Dispute it with the CB as "company no longer in service".
or
B. Ask the collection agency to remove it, since the company the amount is owed to is no longer around.
What DOES on do if a company listed on a CR is no longer in service?
Why not send a DV first to see what happens once its received, could just fall off from that alone.
