I have 36 medical collections reported for $45 and under. They have submitted a collection line item for each lab or xray (some as low as $5) and all are from same CA (Account Receivables Solutions).
The OC will no longer take payment on the account and continue to refer me to the CA. I have sent DV letters but they have all now been transferred to a lawyer. (a total of under $2,000 for all 36)
The collections are on the credit report are reported by the CA not the collection lawyer. Can I dispute the collections reported by the CA because the lawyer is now acting as CA?
If the reporting debt collector is either now the owner or has an active collection assignment from the currrent owner, then the reported collection is proper.
If the attorney is representing the debt collector, they can contact you on their behalf.
Unless the current debt collector has sold the debt to the attorney, then there is no basis for contesting their credit reporting.
