Welcome to the forums!
I'd suggest reading the following:
Common Abbreviations
Credit Scoring 101 - great for knowing what is in your credit score and to see how your score is impacted.
What Steps Do I Take - great for learning the repair process.
and Example letters - PFDs, GWs, DVs, etc.
IMO, work on all first if the budget allows it. Otherwise, focus on the newest first, or focus on the ones that might lead to an imminent lawsuit, or ones that might lead to a newer baddie reporting (like a new CA).
100 pts is very do-able.
thank you so much i have had a lot of time to review over this stuff and am starting soon with some of my low items.
does anyone know if the amount of the item pdf will affect the score more heavily?
for instance i have one ca for only $27 bucks will that possibly only increse my score by say 10pts
vs an item that is pfd that was for approx $1500?
The amount of the debt has no factor at all in your score. Just the fact that it is in collections does.
You could get the same bump for removing a $270,000 or a $1 collelctions.
I'd start with the earliest items and work your way back. Contact folks and offer PFD then GW. No sense in paying anything that won't be removed from your file. Be persistent. Look for contacts on this forum. Keep working at it. Some items get cleared up with a call others take months of letters, faxes, and calls. Keep on it!
