Finally got a 3 year old innacturate chargeoff removed from my credit. I was hoping for a major increase and this is what I got. While my file no longer has a "major delinquency" marker, the score increase was definitely underwhelming. A total of 1 pt increase from 747 to 748. Being objective, a 747 with a 3 yeard old charge off, and several 30 days late was nothing to complaint about to begin with but was hoping for a 10-15pt increase with such a baddie still in my files.
Congrats on the removal! I realize the increase was underwhelming - but, big picture - you are on a much better scorecard now - which means improved score growth potential. Clean reports should be the primary goal - higher scores will follow with time. This is a wonderful thing so enjoy & celebrate!
