Hello,
I swear everytime you call an office you get a different answer...that gripe aside, I called on four different medical providers as we received a collection notice last year for debt incurred in 2007. Every one of those offices said they didn't have a balance for us and gave no indication that the bills were owned by the CA. Well, that's exactly the issue.
All four of these bills are owned by the CA, meaning the OC has written them off their books.
I'd like to get these taken care of since after we contacted the OCs earlier this year we thought they already were.
Does the Hipaa process apply to debt owned by the CA? I know the amount of information I can garner from the forums here is limited, but any info you can pass to me would be greatly appreciated.
