Hospital is willing to take payment

And from what they said is they're willing to remove from my CR. Now, should I send a check or pay over the phone? I really hope they honor their agreement

Re: Hospital is willing to take payment

I'd do it by check AFTER I have a pay for deletion letter on their letterhead.    A check you can make a note "payment in full for deletion"- backed with the letter.

So you're essentially taking their word for it?

NO!!   NO!!   NO!!  Do NOT believe them!  Letter first.  ON company letterhead.    WhenI got my PFD letter it was signed by a president of the collection agency.  And they honored their word..

Dont pay without a letter.

+1

This is not the early 1900's where your word was your bond. This is America 2012, and if you don't have it in writing, there words mean nothing. If they don't do it...then what???

They may be telling the truth but get it in writing first anyway to protect yourself.

I don't know anything about the HIPPA process but if they're willing to take payment then delete...then do it. Just get it in writing first. You could have them to fax it or send to your email if you're pressed for time. Once you receive it (a few minutes by fax or email) then pay it and you're done.
