How Soon with a Secured CC

Hi,

It's been awhile since I have been here. 

I've finally decided to apply for a Secured CC w/ Capital One.  Is it too soon to apply w/ BoA?

were you approved for the Cap1? What was your sec deposit if so?

Yes, I was approved w/ $49 deposit.

You can try a pre-approval with BoA and see if anything pops up.  That will be a SP, then if you apply it will be a HP.  Also, no guarantees.

I did the pre-qual button and a card did come up for BoA.  Oh my goodness I was using my phone.  Will a SP harm me in anyway if done too many times?

A SP from you can but I believe it would require a large number of them.

My husband was approved with the $99 deposit  for cap1 and I was told by many in the credit card forum with being approved by cap1 w/ that deposit BoA may offer him the $99/$500 card. ($99 deposit, $500 limit) if he applied for an unsecured BoA card. I didn't want the HP though on his CR. But if you don't have too many inq's then maybe give that a shot? Apply for an unsecured card through BoA then you may get the 99/500 offer or if you get the 7-10 day msg you could always call for a recon and if they deny you an unsecured ask about their secured card with the 99 deposit and 500 limit. Again, this is info that was given to me by the folks over in the credit card forum.
