I'm trying to remove several collections from my credit report
I recently had 6 collections, and somehow 3 were removed ( doesn't show up as closed, completely deleted from credit report)
I still have 2 open collections and 1 collection that shows up as closed.
Is it possible to call the collection agency and get a settlement with them to pay the debt and get it removed from my credit report completely ? And that it will not show up as closed but erased from my report ?
How do you request something like that? Do you ask them for a letter confirming they will remove the collection before you pay it off ?
If all my collections would be removed will my credit score go up? Or will it remember I had collections in the past ?
I would talk with the original creditor first see if they will accept payment in full in exchange for pulling your account from the collection agency. If that answer is a no then try to negociate a Pay for Delete with the collection agency. Getting it in writing first before giving them a penny.
can you talk to the creditor even though it's already in collection?
Will most collection agency agree pay for deletion ?
