How long before "recent collections" become just "collections"?

I was just wondering how long it'll be before my three paid collections will only "hurt" me in one way.  I have SW and in the tab "understanding your FICO score" it says I have 4 reasons my score is so low.  I'd love to get it up from 612, but only time will help that.....per reason 2) Short account history and reason 3) Recent collections

......reason 4) High Credit Usage is from only 31% utilization.

Does anyone know from experience with SW how long it takes to get your recent collection to just be "one with" collections?   Like in a year will they no longer be recent?  Two years?

650-700 seems so far away with the very little I can do 

Any help/advice/thoughts would be appreciated.     Oh yeah....and my credit history is only 6 months old (reason 2).

I only have one CC....an NFCU Cash Rewards Card for 5K.   I've had it for 6 months now, and will be asking for a CLI next month for I'm thinking 10K.
