Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

@MarkyB  I wouldn't worry about it and see what they say in the denial letter.  If anything is out there it's not having an effect on your relationship with BoA.

Thank you. I'm considering joining a local credit union. I found one that I may apply to. They offer a credit building service along with a credit card with guaranteed approval for members. I will do more research on them before I decide. I hear many people recommend a CU.

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

I pulled all 3 reports again. Equifax already has my discover card on file. My statement end date just passed 24 hours ago so it's good to see discover wastes no time on reporting it. TU and EX still don't have it listed but I'm sure they will by next week when I do my final free pulls. I also confirmed my collection has dropped off my EX but it's still listed on TU. Speaking of the collection, I found the very first bill Portfolio had sent me and they had listed the default date on it. I saved all my bills from over the years so I went through them the other night.

I also received the email tonight stating my capital one card has been mailed out. It should be here any day.

Yes, Discover should eventually show up on EX and TU. Maybe another week or two.

Also, the weekly free credit reports have actually been extended through the end of 2022. Smiley Happy

@OmarGB9 oh wow. I did see a headline stating that but I didn't really pay much attention to it. That's awesome! Thanks for the update!

My equifax vantagescore just went up 42 points since adding my discover card to my report. Things are starting to shape up!

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

My discover card now is listed on my TU and EX and my TU vantagescore just jumped 33 points from 522 to 555. Still no FICO scores. I'm waiting on Self to update my EX vantagescore but as of last month it's at 524 but since then I've added 2 accounts and removed the collection so it should jump considerably.

Hey @RobynJ how long did it take you to generate your FICO score?

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

@MarkyB

I have rentreporters on my credit which when I joined they verified and put 24 months of positive previous payments but better yet they started the line from when I moved in 3years 10 months prior. This made my aaoa go up plus my oldest line. This gave me a Fico 9 in two months I still don't have a Fico 8. It takes a minimum of 6 months of a trade line reporting to score on fico 8
