I have a collection on my Equifax and Experian credit report from Midland Credit Management regarding an old t-mobile bill. I paid the original creditor which is tmobile and faxed in proff to Midland, they have agreed to remove and advised they update between the 17th and 25th. This is the only baddie on my report, My EQ score is currently 622 how much of an increase can I expect?????
How recent is the collection? Do you have any revolving credit? What's the worst delinquency listed affiliated with that collection?
Also, that dropping off could theoretically lower your score by putting you in a more competitive bucket.
I honestly don't know what kind of an increase you can expect, but those kinds of answers would help people who might know figure out if they do know.
Is it your only collections?
The collection was posted to CRA's Jan/2013. this is my only collection. I have 5 CC's with 2% UTL. Student loans that are paid on time each month.
With that new of a collections and no other baddies, I would expect an increase. Sometimes you don't get back what you lost though.
You may even be rebucketed, because you'll be CA free.
What does rebucketed mean???
It means put in a different scoring bucket. You go from negatives on your report, which is one bucket, to one without. It is like being put in a catergory with people whose reports are similar to yours.
Is this good or bad? WIll my score increase or decrease?
If a rebucket put you in a higher score bracket it could put you on the bottom of the totem pole, so to speak and lower your score a bit.
