How quick can I get to 700?

I filed Chapter 7 June 2015. Prior to filing my FICO score was 450.

I received discharge September 2015. My FICO score was 540.

I immediately began disputing information on my report with the bureaus, and the individual creditors.

Due to my persistance I had every negative item removed from all of my reports. The bankruptcy remains, but the creditors information is all gone.

I still had a federal student loan that I opened a month prior to filing chapter seven, so May 2015. This remained on my report, boosting my score.

I obtained a $300 unsecured card through First Premier, and a $300 secured card through Open Sky. I've had a few more student loans account open.

My FICO score as of November 2015 is 642. My revolving credit utilization is 0%, and will never be above 15%. I'm thinking of upping the limit on the Open Sky a few hundred dollars. In February I plan on buying a used car.

Any guess when my score will hit 700?

Don't bother - that won't help scores. If you did not burn Cap One in the BK, you should app with them for unsecured cards.

Every negative item was removed. I won't say how.

The Cap One Secured was the first card I applied for post discharge. I was denied. It was only the day after discharge though. There was still a lot of junk on my reports and my score was only 540. Its 642 now.

I did burn Cap 1 in my first bk, and I counter sued them after that, ending with a settlement favorable to me. So, maybe im on their list.

Neither the open sky or first premier card required hard credit pulls. The cap one secured did leave a hard pull on my report.

If you have a CO with them that is less than one year old its an automatic denial. Once its past a year old you'll be golden. Cap One is not a lender that holds grudges, at least not past twelve months.

"I Wont say how" lol, did that make anyone else even more curious how they got removed?

Upping the credit limit of a secured card won't do you any good, probably better off getting an additional card.

Re: How quick can I get to 700?

I was feeling saucy, so I applied for a Discover it student card. I was denied but offered the secured card, which I accepted, with a $200 limit.

I then applied for a Capitol One Platinum and was approved for a $300 limit. Now, just 5 months post filing chapter 7, I have 4 cards. 2 unsecured, and 2 secured.

FICO 8 is still 642. Lets see where it is at when these two new accounts hit my reports.

Apply for the Cap One QS1 card as well. If they auto-deny for too many cap One accounts, you may have to close the secured account before they will give you the second unsecured account. If you call them after the second statement (or do online chat) you can ask them to upgrade the card to QS rewards. Also request a CLI after the third statement.

Most rebuilders find they will break 700 about 24 months out from BK discharge.

Re: How quick can I get to 700?

I figured I'd kill two birds with one hard pull, so I applied for the Cap One Quicksilver, and was approved for $300. I've got five cards, and I'm going into gardening mode.

First Premier Unsecured $300
OpenSky Secured $200
Discover IT Secured $200
Capitol One Platinum Unsecured $300
Capitol One Quicksilver Unsecured $300

3 Hard Pulls
642 FICO 8

I'll update my score when the new credit card account hit.
