How to make a CA squirm.....

I was the victim of identity theft and had an account for an alarm opened in my name, "among other things."  Had done the proper filing of police report, sent that.  Contacted my attorney had him send everything to the OC and to the CA that was trying to collect.  Among the things he send was a cease and dessist order.  So.. following all of this being done.   I got a phone call on my answering machine from Account Receivables Technology, after they had received the letter.  It was automated,  you know how it goes.  This is a call for XXXXXX  if this is not xxxxxx please hang up..  etc.    Well,  I called them back.  Here's what was said.

ART:  Hello

Me:  This is XXXXX  I received a phone call from you.

ART:   One moment while I pull up your account info.

            OK sir, we did not call you.

Me:     Yes you did, it's on my answering machine.

ART:   No sir, we did not call you, must have been a wrong number.

Me:     You said my name on there at least 4 or 5 times.

ART:   No sir,  it was not us that called you, must have been someone else.

Me:      You said the name on there twice and I'm calling back to the number you left.

ART:    No sir, we did not and will not call you,  must have been someone else.

Me:      Are you sure you didn't call and want to talk to me?

ART:    Yes sir, was not us.  Did not call you and do not want to speak to you.

Me:     Thank you.   

Must admit, it was fun making them squirm.

You should have asked how they could possibly have a file on you if they don't want to hear from you

Oh they had a file on me.  They just realized they contacted me after a cease and desist letter.
