I had a Credit One charge-off of $1258 go to LVNV Funding and I was able to have every trace of it removed from my report.

  1. LVMV actually sued me so it was being reported as both a public lein and a collection item on my CR.
  2. First I disputed the collection item as a "duplicate" and showed that it was also listed as the lien. The collection item was then removed from my report. This left the lawsuit and the Charge-Off from Credit One on my CR.
  3. After that there was a change to the law (not sure if it was just my state or a national thing) where public liens could no longer be reported, so that dropped off as well. This left just the Credit One Charge-Off on my CR.
  4. After the balance was paid in full, I wrote a GW email to Credit One asking them to remove the Charge-Off from my report since it had been paid in full, and they did.

It was a long process (I'm talking months) but I did get every stitch of evidence of that ordeal removed. I wouldn't give up so easily.

Re: I have 5 collection accounts I need to get rid of

I have already GW Credit One into deleting their line... so my plan is once LVNV is paid, I will GW them endlessly...

My plan is that in a year, the very most negatives I have will be from Ford Credit, which at that point will be some 30's and 60's, with the paid charge off... that will be 4 years old at that point..

Re: I have 5 collection accounts I need to get rid of

My current scores are 578/598/594 with current utilization of 72%, within 2 weeks it should drop to 0%... Will also have 1 of the 5 collections drop off (paid portfolio from 2018) in about a month... how much score bump can I expect from each????
