Installment loans...

Ok, so both student loan and auto loan are installment loans, right?

So would I mess up my 'credit mix' if I paid my auto loan off, but still had the student loan installment? Or would that still be considered sufficient mix (especially since it will still report on my credit)???

TIA

Re: Installment loans...

All of those...car loan.&..SL...are installment...if you drop one...you would still have a mix...assuming you have revolving credit also...you'll be fine...the TL will still stick for 10 years...and help your history...

Re: Installment loans...

That's what I wanted to hear! Thank you so much!

And yes, I had some store cards, and within last few months opened some 'regular' credit cards.
Just really wanted to pay off this car loan because interest rate is 13.5!
Also going to buy a home next year, so wanted my dti down.
