Items fall & in relation with location??

Hello everyone

I have two negative items on my report, one was first late Nove 2001, and the second was first late in August 2004

according to Experian and Equifax, I have roughly 7 years to wait for them to fall off,

but i just got off the phone with Transunion, and the Customer rep told me that the august 4th item will fall off next year, and the Nov 2001 item can be disputed as too old.

Apparently, items are suppose to fall off after five years cause I live in New York State??

any insight please

Nove item, is Bally fitness account and it has been paid closed
August item is First Priemer credit card that was charged off

BK7 Discharge: October 2004 Starting Score: 590 March 2018 EQ & EX & TU FICO Score: 846 & 847 & 850

Goal Score: 800+ across the board | Goals Hit: 3 Active Cards: 2

Gardening Since: October 2015 Garden Goal: Oct 2018

Wish List: | None

llecs - thank you

I will call back both Experian and Equifax and ask for that nove 2001 item to be deleted for being too old

thanks a lot for the insight

Re: Items fall & in relation with location??

I'd suggest disputing via mail CMRRR.

The NY law is a rarity. No other state that I know of allows this. Basically NY passed their own law before the FCRA came into play.

Re: Items fall & in relation with location??

Don't dispute again if you called. But CMRRR is certified mail return receipt requested.

Re: Items fall & in relation with location??

llecs is right.......only paid collections/charge offs are removed after 5 years.

If they did the dispute over the phone, no need to call/write/dispute online.

The other charge off should be removed next August if paid.
