Judgment off---Thank you!

Hi there...just wanted to thank you all for helping me get a paid judgment off my Experian today!

It was an old tax lien, reported 2000, paid off 2005. I had three paid tax liens, of which this was one. After joining myfico, the tax lien was flagged for dispute with all three for aging off. Without joining here, it would on indefinetly, I am sure.

A couple things: I read some other thread about going down to the courthouse and getting a cancellation. The woman there did not have tax lien showing, had one paid showing, and one not showing satisfaction (it was a garnishment, paid this June in full-more later). She did not have "cancellation" papers, no idea about them, but then I asked her about filing a notice to vacate, so she gave me two vacates and sent me upstairs to find out about tax lien and paid judgment.

I went upstairs, the man there could not find a copy of the tax lien and suggested I contact the IRS. He did give me a $2.00 copy of the paid judgment. I asked about the tax lien and aging off, he said he believed that they could stay on indefintely.

I called transunion, and the man there said that it was still under investigation and would stay on for 7 years AFTER PAID...not what I understood here (thought maybe after filed or something?)

I called the local collection agency that had the paid medical judgment. I have done one PFD with her, sent her a goodwill letter about the collection report that was showing paid for the paid judgment and asked her about vacating the judgment. She said that was entirely up to their legal department. I sent a goodwill letter today along with a blank copy of the vacate, along with my story of my medical again and stated that I would pay for any cost incurred (the vacate is $40.00 so maybe the attorney fee on top of it). I could have filed a notice myself, but would have to take off work and thought I would try appealing to the attorney's goodwill.

A thought, since the county no longer had a copy of my paid tax lien, I ma thinking that TU and EQ will remove as well, because there is no info...

About in June just before my last garnished payment on my "unpaid" judgment, I had a call from the atty asking me for $35.00 in interest. She said, "Well, we always collect interest!" I was a bit snide saying that it did not appear in the amount and the payroll person had calculated it to the penny. so now I will send a letter tomorrow to get the ball rolling about why the judgment is not showing "satisfied." I hope that after they send me a letter for the $35.00 I can negotiate a vacate out of the deal. Money grubbers!

Re: Judgment off---Thank you!

Oh, and the GW did work on the paid $1228 medical collection that went to judgment, the CA said that she was deleting it this August when they report...I may have to send her roses! ( I will wait until I get the judgment vacated for that...ha!)

Thanks again all!
