There is a collection on a credit profile but no contact has been made or letters or anything.. How does this place keep making updates like this is a new collection? What can I do about this. It seems like a regaing. However I thought You had to make contact or something to reage the collection. The collection is from 2003 and we now live in Texas.
From 2003? Is that when the DOFD was? If so, if anything from this shows up on your CR, then it would be reaging. Send them a DV using the Texas statute.
This is what is showing on my fico. But it is from 2003. Where can I find the exact wording of the Texas statue? Also will they remove it?

You need to know the DoFD of the debt. Is 2003 when you became late and never caught up.
FCRA says negative items can't be on your report longer than 7.5 years. If the DoFD is from 2003, that is a violation.
TX Finance code says you can send a DV at any time and you must receive a response within 30 days.
Where are you getting your report?
Start with pulling your FREE CR's from (ACR) annualcreditreport.com . they tend to have more info on them, then ones from a 3rd party. The CR's from ACR, come directly from each of the CRA's. You can pull 1 Free CR from TU,EQ and EX every 12 months.
Save your money and Don't Buy the Scores, they are what we call FAKO's.
This info came off myfico. So the DOFD would be on an actual report from experian or exquifax correct? We are going to have to order that.
Look at the post above.
EQ shows DoFD, TU and EX show removal dates.
Ordering now. I am looking for the DOFD now.
It is making me order it by mail. So when I get this report should I look for the orgibal creditor or the collection agency? The collection agency is who is regaing it because the orginal creditor turned it over.
Look for both. See how each is reporting. The CA has to show the same DoFD.
If they are not on those reports, it is probably too old.
