I went through a loan modification on my mortgage 3 years ago and in the 14 MONTH PROCESS paid $2,000.00 of my $2,500.00 mortagage on time each month. This was the amount my loan was ultimately modified to. Because of the long process Citimortgage now shows 14 late pays, making it nearly impossible for me to re finance my interest only loan. Is there a time limit that this shows up on credit report. Has anyone had any success having many late payment black marks removed from a mortgage? Is there a time limit on how long they can stay on your credit report?
